Job Function:
- Undergo and complete advanced onsite training as a mechanical craft apprentice and obtain the required internally recognized SQP qualification level.
- Undergo and complete advanced offsite training in Machine Tool Technology at Greenville Technical College and obtain the required certificate of completion.
- Become proficient in the application and use of a hand tools and a wide range of machine tools including, but not limited to, milling machines, grinding machines, and lathes.
- Become proficient in setting, adjusting, and maintaining work feed devices, timing & sequencing systems, input & output monitoring sensors, and power presses.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform tasks in assigned departments as directed by the Training Coordinator or designated Mentors to assist with company needs and build performance and competence.
- Develop and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to understand and read blue prints and SPC charts.
- Develop and demonstrate the knowledge and ability to perform full measurement and inspection activities using a variety of metrology equipment.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of statistical process control, product functionality, control of manufacturing operations, and customer expectations.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of tool design, product development, and production of precision metal components in a manufacturing environment.
- Develop and demonstrate an understanding of deep draw tooling and the deep draw process.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping following 5-S principles.
Essential Skills Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Achieve Stueken Qualification Level of 3.
Physical Demands:
- Duties include and are not limited to: see, hear, talk, stand, walk, lift, twist, and bend.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, noise, vibrations, and hazardous materials.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs.
Hourly rate: $13.00 an hour
